The 3 IQs that we MUST have! Part 1- Academic IQ

In our everyday lives, I am sure you have heard people saying about IQ scores, IQ quizes. And there is a common belief that if someone who have a high IQ score means he/she is a genius and is very smart and would be very successful in future. But do you ever wonder why you see or hear news about  school dropouts becoming very successful? One example is Bill Gates, he was a dropout but yet till this very day, he is the Top 10 Richest man in the world!

After reading Robert Kyosaki’s book called “Increasing your child’s Financial IQ” . I learnt that in life, we require 3 IQs to be successful in life. In this post, I will show you that that mindset about high IQ score is invalid. I will explain that even common people like you and I with low IQ scores can be successful as long as we have these 3 IQs.

The first IQ that we should have is academic IQ. Academic IQ is what we learnt in school like how to read and write. This IQ is extremely important and we learn life skills like reading and writing which is very commonly used in our communications and learning. We learn to read from books, textbooks, worksheets, tests and exams. However, after reading Robert Kiyosaki’s book, ” Rich and Happy, don’t go to school?” He talks about the education system and its flaws and weaknesses. He used many examples to prove his point. Thus, I started to realise that the education system in schools put too much emphasis in academic IQ and determining a person’s success or intelligence by just focussing on this academic IQ. I have seen many students who do not do well academically are thus labelled by students, teachers and even their parents as words like  ’stupid”, “dumb”, “hopeless”, “failure” and even “useless”. Thus, some of these students turn astray and some may even be damaged emotionally if their self esteem is not high. As a result, the school has a part for creating so many suicide cases and so many crimes.
