I always wondered why I never had time to do things that I want.
But after watching a video on ILG by Dave Crenshaw, he taught about why people do not have time and one of the reason is because they overcommit.
He says that those who cannot say “No” are those who overcommit themselves.
In this video, Dave Crenshaw talked about what Macrotasking is and a few reasons why people will overcommit.
We heard of multitasking which is doing many tasks at one time but what exactly is Macro Multitasking?
Macro multitasking is when
-you overcommit into too many tasks or careers
-involved in too many things then the tasks are in conflict
When you say yes to 1 thing, always say no to something else.
The truth of Time is that we ONLY have 24 hours a day

A bit background information about Dave Crenshaw:
“Dave Crenshaw’s mission is to help you get more time. Dave has shown business leaders worldwide how to uncover hidden hours every day and increase their per-hour worth. Dave is a frequent radio guest on stations throughout North America. He is the author of The Myth of Multitasking: How ‘Doing it All’ Gets Nothing Done, a time management bestseller reviewed in TIME magazine and soon to be available in six languages” (Information from Dave Crenshaw’s website www.davecrenshaw.com)
2 groups of people who overcommit
1.Cannot say No to others
-The people in this group are nice, caring and selfless.
-However, they always short change themselves and others around them
-Thus, if you are in this group, you need to be careful what you commit to as sometimes others may take advatage of you.
Here’s one approch which Dave Crenshaw taught that he always used to delay the decision making process when people ask for his commitment:
He will say, “Bob thank you for the opportunity for me to participate, I really want to consider it carefully. Can you send me an email to let me think about is it the right time or not for me?”
Remember to Master 1 thing at a time.
2.Cannot say No to themselves
-They are the Entrepreneurs, Sales representatives and creators.
-They constantly have new ideas and new opportunities
-However, they create too many opportunities for themselves
-Thus, their work and effort is so spread apart because of their wonderful ideas that they never commit to one of them completely.
Solution:
Create “The Perhaps List“
1.Write down ideas that come to mind and store them away for later
2.Writing down is not enough
3.Set a time in calenderto review “The Perhaps List” like once a month
4.Think about which activity is the most profitable for you or benefit you the most
5.You can do anything you put your mind to doing but not all at the same time.
You can download “The Perhaps List” in softcopy by just leaving your email below and I will send you the softcopy.

Very good info! The other side to that coin would be to learn to get other people to say “yes” to you! That way you can actually “outsource” most of your work. Very nice site.
